This time, we would like to present a book ABOUT one of our speakers, rather than BY one of our speakers, because a few weeks ago, a highly readable biography of Jean Asselborn was published. The Tour of His Life – a multifaceted portrait of the EU's longest-serving foreign minister, written by political journalist Michael Merten.

Merten accompanied Jean Asselborn on a 1,000-kilometre bicycle tour through France – from the flat countryside up to the legendary Mont Ventoux. The result is a book that is at once a travelogue, a biographical narrative and a contemporary document. Between diplomacy and personal connection

The work highlights Asselborn's political milestones: almost two decades as Luxembourg's chief diplomat, passionate advocacy for a European Union with humanitarian roots, and defining moments in international diplomacy.
