December 16th - Learnings from Sports

Our speaker Hans-Dieter Hermann has been the sports psychologist of the German national football team for many years. He was as much a member of the team behind the team when it won the 2014 World Cup as he was in the not always easy years that followed. Under national coach Hansi Flick, he is still part of the team's closest support staff.

Before joining the national team, he has already coached athletes from all fields. Hans-Dieter Hermann is also a corporate coach, advises politicians and is a much sought-after keynote speaker. Using examples from sport, he shows, among other things, how to call up top performance at the decisive moment, how to cope with pressure and stress and what psychological leadership can look like in times of digitalisation.

In our Chat Club podcast, he told us, among other things, how he became a sports psychologist and how football has changed since his beginnings in the sport. He describes his tasks in the national football team and remembers what was so special about the 2014 World Cup.
