We are actively involved wherever our help is needed. Whereas we preferably support projects in our city and our immediate surroundings.
The London Speaker Bureau in Germany, for example, supports Sozialtreff 88 e.V. in Karlsruhe. Socially disadvantaged citizens receive a warm dinner there once a week. It was a great pleasure for us to swing the cooking spoon, bake cakes and serve our guests a three-course menu. An even greater joy was to see the gratitude in their faces.
We would be delighted if many office teams, corporate departments and work colleagues would follow our example and get involved wherever help is needed. You often don’t have to go far to find people and projects needing your support. Often civic involvement is needed right in the city or even the street where you live or work. Maybe this might be a good New Year’s resolution?
