Folker Hellmeyer is chief analyst of Netfonds AG and the former chief analyst at Bremer Landesbank. He is one of Germany's most distinguished economists and chief analysts and his accurate predictions have made him famous beyond the banking industry. After completing his banking apprenticeship and the banking academy, Folker Hellmeyer (*1961) worked as an assistant and customer trader in foreign exchange trading at Deutsche Bank AG in Hamburg from 1984 to 1987. In 1988 the bank sent him to London as a cash trader. On his return a year later, he initiated the establishment of a JPY trading desk. After 5 years as an over-the-counter broker in the interbank foreign exchange market at Bierbaum & Co. GmbH & Co. OHG, he moved to Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen GZ, where he was Senior Dealer and Chief Analyst. From 2002 until the end of 2017, Folker Hellmeyer held the technical management position in the "Sales Foreign Exchange and Money Market Trading" division at Bremer Landesbank. In 2018 he founded Solvecon Invest which focuses on investment advice for investment funds before he has become chief analyst of Netfonds AG. Folker Hellmeyer can often be seen on screen as a commentator on events on the international financial markets, including regularly on ARD, n-tv, Bloomberg and NDR.
