Estelle Herlyn is an expert on sustainability who thinks in terms of interconnections and interactions between economics, ecology, and society. She is a Professor and Head of the Competence Center for Sustainable Development at FOM University of Applied Sciences. There, her work focuses on the responsibility of politics and business for sustainable development. Another major focus of her research is the simultaneous realization of development and climate protection from a global perspective, making use of market forces. She impresses with her realistic and solution-oriented view of current challenges. After studying business mathematics at TU Dortmund, she worked for several years in the SAP environment for various international companies such as PwC, Ford, L’Oréal, and HSBC. She later completed her PhD at RWTH Aachen University, focusing on issues of balanced income distribution as a key aspect of the social dimension of sustainability. Her commitment to optimizing existing structures continues to this day. Since 2012, Prof. Dr. Estelle Herlyn has been working on a freelance basis for the Research Institute for Applied Knowledge Processing (FAW/n), where she is particularly responsible for research projects conducted in cooperation with political and business partners. Estelle Herlyn is a member of the German Association of the Club of Rome, Deputy Chair of the Board of Trustees at the Senate Institute for the Common Good-Oriented Policy, and a Board Member of Global Energy Solutions e.V.
