Dr. Wolfram Weimer (born in 1964) founded the political magazine Cicero in 2004 and was chief editor of the news magazine Focus until July 2011. After studying History, German, Political Science and Economics, Wolfram worked from 1990 to 1998 as an editor and correspondent for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung in Madrid. In 1998 he started working for “Die Welt” as Vice-Chief Editor and three years later as Chief Editor. From 2001 to 2002 he held the position as Chief Editor of the newspaper "Berliner Morgenpost". In 2004 he founded the magazine Cicero, one of the largest monthly political magazines in Germany. Until the end of 2009 Wolfram worked at Cicero as Chief Editor and currently stills holds the role of Publisher. In 2012, he bought a number of business media, including the Börse am Sonntag. For his journalistic work, he was honoured with numerous awards, including the World Newspaper Award (2002) and the Journalist of the Year (2004). In October 2007 he was awarded the Leipzig Prize for the Freedom and Future of the Media 2007.
