About Wolfgang Wahlster
He is one of the leading figures in artificial intelligence (AI) in Europe, is internationally recognised as one of the most respected German scientists in his field and is considered one of the greatest personalities in computer science. As founding director of the German Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) and its chairman until 2019, he has developed the DFKI into the world's largest research institution in this field.
Wolfgang Wahlster has been awarded the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class, an honorary doctorate from Linköping University in Sweden, TU Darmstadt and Maastricht University and will be inducted into the Hall of Fame of German Research in 2023.
