Joachim Wagner is one of the best-known television journalist in Germany. For many years he was deputy director of the ARD Capital Studio as well as head of the ARD London studio. Today Joachim Wagner is a freelance journalist and successful book author. He began his journalistic career in 1979 as head of legal policy at the NDR radio station. Since then he has also freelanced for several newspapers, including ZEIT, SPIEGEL and WELT am SONNTAG. From 1987, the Hamburg-born journalist was deputy editor-in-chief of the NDR's main department of current affairs for ten years, as well as head and presenter of the NDR magazine Panorama. He then became head of the ARD studio in London until 2002 and reported on federal politics from Berlin until 2008. His areas of expertise during this time were SPD, FDP, right-wing extremism and terrorism. Since 2008, Joachim Wagner, who holds a doctorate in law, has been working as a freelance journalist and media consultant. He offers television training, media consulting and crisis communication for politicians, managers and companies.
