Tina Klüwer is an AI researcher, manager and start-up founder. She is passionate about future technologies and has spent many years exploring how artificial intelligence and other technologies shape our future, and how we can use them in ways that truly benefit us. Since March 2026, she has served as Executive Director of AI NATION, the national platform for AI start-ups in Germany. AI NATION emerged from a collaboration between AI+MUNICH and the Artificial Intelligence Entrepreneurship Centre (K.I.E.Z.) in Berlin; it connects regional ecosystems, promotes start-up initiatives in the AI sector and supports AI start-ups in scaling up. In her role, Klüwer brings regional approaches from Berlin and Munich to the wider landscape and links them closely with established companies and SMEs. Prior to this, from December 2023 to 2025, she headed the ‘Research for Technological Sovereignty and Innovation’ department at the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), where she shaped key strategic initiatives to strengthen Germany’s innovative capacity in international competition. Prior to that, she headed the K.I.E.Z. Artificial Intelligence Entrepreneurship Centre from 2021 to 2023 and was the founder and managing director of the AI company parlamind from 2015 to 2021. Tina Klüwer obtained her PhD in computational linguistics from Saarland University and spent over 10 years as a researcher at the German Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), the University of Bonn and the Free University of Berlin. She was head of the Research Transfer Working Group at the German AI Association and a member of the board of directors of the AI Park. She also served for many years as chair of the ‘Technological Sovereignty’ advisory board at the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), as an expert member of the German Bundestag’s two-year Enquete Commission on Artificial Intelligence, in the coordination group for the AI standardisation roadmap of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) and DIN, and on the board of the German AI Association. Tina Klüwer believes that more information is needed about what AI actually entails. As a sought-after speaker, she achieves this in an impressive manner.
