Denis Scheck has gained experience in the literary business throughout his life. He made a name for himself with his literary magazine Druckfrisch on German television and as literary critic for Deutschlandfunk. After studying German, contemporary history and political science in Tübingen, Düsseldorf and Dallas, he worked as a literary agent, translator and freelance critic. With hosting his own literary programme “Druckfrisch” Denis Scheck has become known to a broad public. He also presents “Lesenswert” and “Kunscht”. From 1996 to 2016, Denis was also literary editor at Deutschlandfunk. He also is translator and editor of contemporary US literature like for example the books of David Foster Wallace. From 2000 to 2002 he was a member of the jury of the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize in Klagenfurt and in 2004 he held a guest professorship for literary criticism at the University of Göttingen for two semesters. In 2007 he received the Translator's Barque and in 2011 Denis Scheck was awarded the German Television Prize in the category "Special Achievement Information". Denis Scheck is a joy to listen to.
