When Peter Maffay is one of the most successful German musicians. Born in 1949 in Kronstadt and emigrated from Romania to Germany in 1963, hesigned his first recording contract in Munich at the age of 19. In the meantime, Peter Maffay has celebrated his 45th stage anniversary, has sold more than 40 million records, has topped the German album charts 17 times with his albums, more than 10 million fans have attended his concerts and Maffay's songs continue to shape the German music landscape. In 2000, Tabaluga Peter Maffay and his team established the Peter Maffay Foundation to create perspectives for children, to offer them orientation, safety and security, especially to those who do not experience this in their own environment. Peter Maffay therefore also stands for social commitment. Today he uses his celebrity specifically to generate funds for the Foundation's needs, which amount to 1.5 to 2 million euros annually and enable around 1,300 traumatised children to stay in the Foundation's facilities every year, as well as providing accommodation for refugees in the Dietlhofen Foundation Centre.
