Jochen Breyer is presenter of the ZDF Sportstudio and has been a real darling of the public for many years. After graduating from high school in 2002 in his home town of Radolfzell on Lake Constance, Jochen Breyer studied American Studies, Political Science and Economics at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. During his studies, Jochen Breyer (*1982) worked as a freelancer for the Süddeutsche Zeitung and as a reporter and editor for Bayerischer Rundfunk. After completing his master's degree, he began his career at ZDF, where he hosted the morning programme Morgenmagazin in 2011 and presented the Champions League broadcasts alongside Oliver Kahn in 2012. He has been the face of the ZDF Sportstudio since the end of 2013. Since 2016, Jochen Breyer has also been filming socio-political reports for ZDF, for example on racism in France or the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. From 2017 to 2021, he presented the reportage series ‘Am Puls Deutschlands’, with which he was nominated for the German Television Award in 2019. He has also been accompanying viewers as a presenter during live broadcasts of major sporting events on ZDF, such as the 2018 Football World Cup in Russia (together with Oliver Welke), the 2022 Football World Cup and the 2021 and 2024 European Football Championships with Christoph Kramer and Per Mertesacker as experts and the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Jochen Breyer has already been honoured with numerous other awards for his work. In 2013, for example, he received the German Sports Journalist Award in the category ‘Best Newcomer’ and in 2021 in the category ‘Best Sports Presenter’. In 2019, he received the German Television Award in the ‘Infotainment’ category and in 2022, Jochen Breyer was voted Journalist of the Year 2022 in the Sports category. His diverse experience in front of and behind the camera makes Jochen Breyer an intrepid and experienced presenter. He leads through events and moderates discussion panels with ease.
