Titus Brinker is a doctor, entrepreneur, dedicated AI researcher and developer of eleven different apps - some with a medical background. He is a researcher at the National Centre for Tumour Diseases (NCT) Heidelberg and managing director of Smart Health Heidelberg Gmbh. The apps developed by Priv. Doz. Dr. med. Titus Brinker are not only revolutionising skin cancer diagnosis, but are also used by various large companies in a wide range of industries. The programmer is also a proven expert on the subject of artificial intelligence. After studying Medicine in Giessen and obtaining his doctorate summa cum laude at the Goethe University in Frankfurt, Titus Brinker took up his first position at the University Dermatology Clinic in Essen in the Clinical Scientist Programme. Already during his studies, Titus Brinker founded the multinational network "Education Against Tobacco" (EAT) at the University of Gießen to promote tobacco prevention in schools. In 2017, he moved to the DKFZ, where he was the first young professional to receive a so-called "clinician scientist position", a combination of medical and scientific work. He is head of app development as well as head of the junior research group Digital Biomarkers for Oncology at the DKFZ, which focuses on the potential applications of artificial intelligence, for example in more precise skin cancer diagnostics, and has high hopes for the fight against cancer with AI. Titus Brinker has already received numerous awards for his work, including the "startsocial" national prize from Chancellor Angela Merkel in 2014 and 2017 for his voluntary work on tobacco prevention. In 2018, he received the Young Research Award for the Sunface app. His app "AppDoc" is awarded the Innovation Prize Dermatology in 2019. In the competition "#KI50: Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Germany", Brinker was awarded the AI Newcomer in the category "Life Sciences" in 2019 and in 2023 he received the "Vision Zero" Innovation Award.
