Christian Mölling is Director of the EDINA Initiative (European Defence in a New Age) and Senior Advisor at the European Policy Centre (EPC). He has more than two decades of experience in security and defence policy and geopolitical strategy, with in-depth knowledge of defence, resilience, industry and new technologies. He advises senior decision-makers in German ministries, parliaments, partner governments, international institutions and the private sector. Christian also supports innovation in policy advice, with a focus on research strategies, organisational redesign and fundraising. After studying political science, history, economics and law at the Universities of Duisburg (Germany) and Warwick (UK), he obtained his doctorate from Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. Dr Christian Mölling began his professional career at the German Institute for Human Rights and the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy at the University of Hamburg. He held senior positions at the Bertelsmann Foundation, the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP), the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF), the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) in Berlin and ETH Zurich before joining the European Policy Centre. He is known to a wider audience through the podcast ‘Die Lage international’ (The International Situation), in which he regularly analyses global developments. Christian Mölling is also a valued speaker at conferences and panel discussions, providing clear assessments that offer guidance on complex issues.
