Eliza Filby is the UK’s leading voice on inter-generational issues. She is an academic, writer, speaker and broadcaster specialising in Generational Intelligence, the history of Generations and contemporary values. Her work is focused on how the people’s values and behaviours are changing and on the implications for politics, work, consumption, society and economics. Eliza studies the evolution of generations and differentiates between what is age-related and what is generation-specific. She was born in south London, educated in Durham and London, and received her PhD in history from the University of Warwick in the Midlands. Between 2010-2014, she lectured at Remnin University Beijing (where she taught the history of capitalism) and King’s College London. She published her first book God and Mrs Thatcher: The Battle for Britain’s Soul in 2015 based on her PhD and when writing about political change in the eighties, became interested in the generation that were born in that era - Millennials. Out of which, spun a research career into generational change. She then founded GradTrain, a business which provides training workshops for graduates helping them develop their skills. Since 2014 it has become one of the leading training organisations for universities in UK. She has written for the major broadsheets in the UK from The Guardian, Times, Telegraph as well as reviewed for the Financial Times and has frequently appeared on television news broadcasts. Eliza is a member of the Women’s Network Forum and serves on the Advisory Board for ‘The Future Group’ at Strategy International. Eliza Filby is a clear, engaging and witty speaker and in her keynotes combines academic rigour with the practical experience of a successful businesswoman. Interesting and insightful she shows what businesses need to know about Generational Intelligence. She commands her audience’s attention with ease and her insights leave you questioning everything you thought you knew.
