Damla Hekimoglu is a proven journalistic all-rounder: whether in front of or behind the camera or in investigative research - is versatile and plays a wide range of journalistic and thematic roles, including at virtual events and online conferences. Damla Hekimoglu moderates ARD-aktuell's Tagesschau24 news programme and presents the Tagesschau news on ARD. She also works as a deputy correspondent for the ARD Istanbul studio and as a live reporter for ARD. As the daughter of Turkish parents, Damla Hekimoglu grew up in Germany and completed her Master of Arts in Romance Studies, Cultural Contacts and Communication at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf with a study visit to Harvard University. After her studies, she completed her journalistic training (programme traineeship) at Westdeutscher Rundfunk. With her (live) reports, moderations and interviews she has already stood in front of the cameras of PHOENIX of ARD and ZDF, WDR and the BBC. She reports on politics, world affairs and social events. For the research cooperation WDR, NDR and Süddeutsche Zeitung, she is also involved in investigative research on a project-by-project basis. As a board member of the Harvard Club Rhein-Main and founder of the international talk series "Harvard Club Talks", she interviews high-profile guests from politics, business, science and society in both virtual and analogue formats. She moderates intellectual panel discussions and in-depth talks in multilingual German, English and Turkish. Damla Hekimoglu volunteers on the board of the Harvard Alumni Club in the Rhine-Main region and in foundations for media competence and the promotion of young talent for socially disadvantaged children and young people.
