Joe Kaeser is a manager and the current Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Siemens Energy, having previously served as CEO of Siemens AG. He spent more than 40 years at Siemens, successfully restructuring, reorganising and positioning the group for the future during his time as CEO. After graduating with a Business Administration degree, Joe Kaeser joined Siemens AG in 1980. He initially held various commercial management roles in the Components division, including at the Siemens Components business in Malaysia, before moving to the Opto Semiconductors business area in 1990. From 1994 onwards, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, later becoming CEO of the US subsidiaries Siemens Components (Cupertino) and Siemens Microelectronics (San José). Five years later, he established a new group-wide performance controlling system within the central finance department and was responsible for the transition of Siemens’ global accounting to US GAAP, among other things. From April 2001 to September 2004, he was a member of the IC Mobile Division Executive Board and the division's Chief Financial Officer. In 2006, he became Head of Corporate Finance. From 2013 to 2021, he was Chief Executive Officer of Siemens AG. Since 2021, he has been Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Siemens Energy AG and Daimler Truck AG. He is also a member of the Supervisory Board of Linde plc, among others. Until October 2021, he was also Chairman of the APA (Asia-Pacific Committee of German Business).
