Hashem Al-Ghaili is a Facebook superstar with unbelievable 22 million followers. He is best known for his infographics and videos documenting contemporary scientific breakthroughs, which have garnered over seven billion organic views. Al-Ghaili's work in science communication gained the attention of science news sources and social media users alike. After he graduates from high school in Yemen he receives a scholarship from the Ministry of Higher Education in Yemen and gets accepted to study biotechnology at the University of Peshawar in Pakistan. After his Bachelor he applies to the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) for a stipend, and succeeds in obtaining another scholarship to continue his graduate studies at Jacobs University in Bremen. In 2015, he completes his Master degree in Molecular Biotechnology. Hashem sees himself as a communicator - promoting science and spreading knowledge that is what interests him. So after university he becomes the Director of Content at Futurism, an American knowledge portal dedicated to science communication before he becomes a freelance Science Communicator. In his free time he works on his own Facebook page which he has started during his time at University of Peshawar. In the videos on his “Science Nature Page” he explains the world of science in a vivid and entertaining manner and tells about the latest scientific breakthroughs and technological achievements.
